Default Water pump gaskets

1946 Ford v8 flathead. Installing Haney rebuilt water pumps. What is good source for best gaskets to use? Thanks

He has supplied gaskets on all of the sets he has built for me, and they looked just like the gaskets that Best Gasket Co sells.

Or do what I do, I get my daughter to make them while she's sitting around not doing much

How many pairs do you need? I have plenty NOS or reproductions. [email protected]

For my water pump kits I have always used the Fel Pro blue gaskets.

With the price of commercial gaskets these days. I make all the simple ones (such as this) myself

I've had Skip rebuild 2 sets of Merc pumps. Both came with gaskets but on the first set the gaskets were on the bottom of the box and not easily visible IIRC. On the second set I knew to look for them. My guess is that Skip did send gaskets but you missed them when you opened the box. Just a guess.

Many thanks for all the help. I have bought these water pumps from a third party and haven’t received them yet. He didn’t mention gaskets so I was just trying to get ahead and have some on hand. I’ve appreciated the work Skip does on coils and bought these water pumps as a backup set, feeling that Skip did a good job on these. Have a great day.

Randy, do yourself a favor and use only a bit of grease to hold on your gasket during assembly. Gasket cement is not needed (it won't leak), and is difficult to scrape off during the next pump replacement. The same is true for the rubber hoses. Silicone is best for the hoses, helps them slide on easier and preserves the rubber. Tip here is to go back and tighten the clamps after the hoses heat up with hot water flow.
