Re: 36 Ford & 39 Ford
I suppose "rare" is a relative term. On any given day, there are a number of them available (for sale). The '39 is a tad scarcer than the '36.

In 1962 I ran upon another '36 conv sdn sitting in a wrecking yard in Oxnard, CA. A complete green car, that was in very decent shape. Nobody wanted the car so the owner of the yard was going to scrap it out, I declined. I offered $10.00 for the heart wiper motor, the yard owner accepted my offer, I removed the wiper motor and left. Next time I was in the wrecking yard I noted the '36 was gone, I inquired about it. I was told they lite the car on fire to burn out the wood, then junked the remaining metal.. What a shame. Hard to believe, but true, that in the mid to late '50's, early '60's, 1930 model Fords had very little value. In 1952 I paid $125. for my '36 Delux 5 win cpe. It had 51k on the odometer and was a one owner car.
