Bumper Clamp Covers
Does anyone have advice on attaching the repo stainless covers on the bumper clamps. There is very little slack on the crimping tabs and the clamp is smaller than the cover. Late '30 vintage.

Re: Bumper Clamp Covers
I was recently confronted with the same problem. It seemed that the covers would move around if the small tabs were forced down.
I solved the problem, at least to my satisfaction, by installing the covers with 3M DP190 structural adhesive. The adhesive was allowed to cure and the excess was cut off. The tabs folded over OK. The DP190 adhesive is grey in color and does not get rock hard. |

Re: Bumper Clamp Covers
We finally floated ours in a bed of epoxy then after it hardened we bent the tabs in. The bumpers have not been reinstalled so I can't give a durability report.
