Default pressed steel bellhousing ,clutch arm

The pressed steel bell housing used on some 51/53 flatheads , what is the correct installation of the clutch arm , you have the clutch arm , the spring that goes over it , then there is A metal plate that also goes on the arm and goes to the outside of the bell ,then there is a felt material that goes under the metal plate , is this correct .

First, the stamped steel full bell was only used on '49-'51 Ford cars.
You are correct about the assembly: Clutch arm, anti-rattle spring 7562, plate 7513, and pad 7996. The '49-'51 shop manual shows the entire assembly.

The spring 7997 slips over the end of the release lever and is sandwiched between the pad and release rod in the '49-'51 application. It looks like the spring simply keeps the plate in place to seal the bell.

Make sure you have the correct angled started plate that only works with the stamped bell.
