TCP global, any good?

TCP Global is selling off a lot of paint right now. I want to buy some Brewster green acrylic enamel, $ 179. a gallon, Is the stuff any good? like to hear some of your results with TCP, good and bad?

I'm painting my 31 roadster brewster green now took the model A chip book to carquest and they matched the color, i like it , in the shade looks black and in the sun dark green.

You get what you pay for. No bargains with paint, cheaper stuff uses more material to get coverage. This is why you should always use a primer close to the color of your top coat.

I only use single stage urethane but acrylic enamel is like a low level urethane. I have painted 4 cars with their Restoration Shop line and have gathered 2 Dearborn awards on the Early Ford V8 Club Concourse. Have had zero problems with TCP Global paints.

Your'e not kidding! I was quoted over $1000 for one gallon of PPG with the hardener and reducer. I was also quoted $370 for just the paint from another dealer.

That is always good advice! I experimented with this a while back and found this to be true. And this was with PPG. There is always slight discoloration of the top coat between light and dark and dark primers.

Very good! I think I may go for it. I know I won't use cheap house paint for a lot of reasons, but the difference may only be $20 bucks a gallon, Not $200.Besides this is paint that is on sale. not the regular price.

I've used TCP acrylic enamel a few times. Color match not spot on, but the product worked very well.

Had very good luck with them. I purchased some paint for a set of Z28 wheels. The color was spot on and the paint was good. Very satisfied with them.

I have painted more vehicles and boats than I would have preferred to and have used TCP Global on many of them. The Restoration Shop urethane looks good on older cars and goes on fine when mixed 4:1:1 using slow reducer and waiting 45 minutes in between coats at 70 to 80 degrees with minimal air circulation. No solvent pop and very little orange peel when spraying 3 to 4 light to medium wet coats at 29 PSI.

Wait 8 hours, sand what's needed with 2000 grit wet paper then 3000 while it's still soft and then buff it out. Doesn't take long for their paint to get hard as a rock and more difficult to sand.

On things I don't really need to sand and buff or I if I want extra depth I'll use TCP urethane single stage paint and spray two medium coats then spray a third coat with 25% TCP clear coat, (hardener and clear coat), blended into 75% mixed color paint, (color, hardener and reducer), followed by a fourth coat of 50:50. Won't be as smooth as cut and buffed paint but it's good enough for the girls I go out with.

For the price I don't think TCP can be beat.

I’ve used them a few times and never had an issue. In the paint world you get what you pay for. That being said, If you’re looking for a budget paint job, the paint sprays decent and lays out fine. If you’re looking for a nice flat job, you’ll probably need to wetsand and buff.
