Correct tailight bulb for '39
What is the right 12V bulb for a '39 taillight with staggered bayonets. Tried an 1187. These are likley 30 year old repops.
When I hook up the black, (tailight lead, the stop light filament lites up, and with the green stop light lead, the tailight filament lites. Or did the repop bozos reverse the leads ? Thank you fordbarners |

Re: Correct tailight bulb for '39
In 1963 a 1034 Bulb worked correctly in a 39 Ford tailight, brakelight. In later years it was a 1157 Bulb that worked properly. I am not familiar with a 1187 Bulb or how it works. Marv

Make sure the contacts inside the light socket are lined up. When I used Drake 6v. repop lights on my 39, I had to change out the socket.
