1933 Ford Steering and Rear End Swap
My friend has a 1933 roadster that he wants to update to 1951 Pickup steering. Does this require the addition of the later steering box to frame mounting plate? Also while retaining the original rear spring and drive line location, what rear assemblies could he use?

Re: 1933 Ford Steering and Rear End Swap
charle as you know the 33 has side steer the box bolts to the chasis no plate. the f100 has to be modifyed. use the f100 box 53-56 f100 it has the worm gear in the right location. get the booklet ford steering its sold in speedway catalog 8.00 item # 910-85208. it will explan every thing . i have done this mod it is well worth the efford if you drive the car a lot. when done it looks factory you can keep the orignal light switch & colum & starter switch. using the 51 box aulters the angle of the colum mount if it,s a street rod i guess it don,t matter.

After the Hudson, I'd be looking at F100, after that F1. Mart. |
