Question Who Owns VIN 18-1618677?

I have in my possession a 1935 “FORD V8 Instruction Book” (Owner’s Manual - Form 1906) and I’d like to see this book back with the car and in its glove compartment home.

What makes this book somewhat unique is that it has the first owner's penciled-in detailed history of the car from its purchase date through its first 32,842 miles on the road. The original details include: city sold in, dealer’s name & phone number (long ago just a 4 digit series), salesman’s name, vehicle weight & model, state title number, engine (VIN) number, first & second license plate/tag numbers, purchase price, date of purchase, and more... It also has added pages that list date, service on that day (amounts of gas and/or oil, location of fill-ups), and total price paid. [Gas averaged between $.15/gal to $.21/gal – never again!]

…some great provenance for this FORD, if it’s a survivor!

If you can produce and forward any proof regarding this VIN, such as: a close-up picture of the VIN on the frame near the steering column or some unique initial purchase history I mentioned above (the specific actual details - NO guessing allowed!), I’ll gladly send this book to you. If we have a match, provide your address and it’ll be sent free of charge! Also includes the original homemade suede pouch in fair condition.

Hi Everyone. lenny1935 welcome to the Forums!

Man I'm close... I'm within 2,500 of that one!!! And I have the trans too.

I hope there's a match out there! Ya' know... The car would be known by that number by either AACA or the V-8 Club if it's been in one of their events.

Mine starts with 195, but what a generous offer. I sure hope the car is still around and it finds it's place back in the glove compartment.

I first posted this question on the National Early Ford V-8 general forum...and guess what...it was suggested by an Early Ford V-8 reader/member that I post my question on the Ford Barn forum, so here it is!

Thanks for all those that hope this question has a happy ending just as I do!

Hey Lenny. Post it on Facebook. A lot of "flatheaders" post there. What a great piece of history. I hope you find the car still exists and can present the owner with that jewel.

Awesome

The second owner of my car kept a journal for 45 years with the car. He recorded every drop of gas that went in it , mileage, repair costs , safety inspections and registration details . The last entry is 2 days before he died.
