Another illustrated comparison request for '35/'36 rear fenders
Does anyone have, or know where I can find, an illustrated overlay picture of a coupe/roadster/cabriolet rear fender compared to a sedan rear fender, for either '35 or '36? I know I have seen something like this before. I also know the coupe rear fenders are about 2" wider than sedan rear fenders at the top/center area, and I can personally tell the difference when looking at these fenders at swap meets, etc., but sometimes this can be difficult to explain to someone else without having samples of both to show the difference. Having an overlay picture would be the next best thing, and probably worth a thousand words.

Easiest way to pick up a fender at a swap meet and know what it is is:
7 mounting holes coupe, 8 for sedan Quote:

Re: Another illustrated comparison request for '35/'36 rear fenders
Don ,I have experienced this in comparing 35 fenders, if its not the length then there's a different shape at the rear .There's a indicator it in the 35/36 book On a trunk back touring sedan the body is 185.1/8 ,longer as opposed to the flat back 182.3/4 .Because the body is longer so I think the rear fender has to be to line up with the bumper, there is that extension on the chassis that makes it 2,3/8 longer . Please show the shape of the last 12 inches at the rear where they attach to the tailpan. That is where the major difference lies,I believe.

Re: Another illustrated comparison request for '35/'36 rear fenders
Bumping this one back up to add a few pictures and identification help. As well as being wider and having a different number of over the top mounting holes, the coupe/roadster/cabriolet fenders have a much longer inside mounting bracket on the tail section with more mounting holes (3 or 4) than the sedan/phaeton fenders have (2). As long as these brackets are intact, it should take no more than a glance to differentiate between these two fender types.
