Default tillotson carb fuel inlet repair

Started to connect the fuel line to the carb today and the nut wants to go in crooked like it has been cross threaded,so I did not force it.
If the threads are damaged can they be repaired?THANKS

I would pull the carb and look at it closely.
I don't have much experience with tillys, but bad threads are one problem I am aware of.
Maybe a new fitting will screw in properly.

If the threads are badly crossed and the inlet is not secure I wouldn't even consider a repair on it . But if you can start the nut correctly aligned it may retap a good thread . However fuel is too dangerous to be blase about.
Having said that I always start winding the fuel inlet on finger tight to ensure that I have the treads lined up properly before using a spanner ( aka wrench)
