Somewhere I have a copy of a copy of several references to the conv that has parts, adjustment and service info. If you run into a problem Ill try to find it. No special tools are needed. You will find your car drives quite easily and if the shocks are good, acceptable body roll. Depending on the rear end gear, it will run the interstate traffic at 65 mph or so.

The one piece that is hard to come by is the switch so be careful with it. Replacement cyl are available and I had hoses made up at a local hyd shop. There is some excellent information in the Ford Svc Bulletins on the system. I would recommend getting a copy of the Post, reproduction Ford Service Bulletins 1941-48.
Second the motion from Jim above. When you get into the top hydraulics, and if the brake fluid is still in there, be very careful to not get any on that beautiful paint.....ask me how I know!!

Thanks for all the great replies.
I've been going through oiling all the hinges and pivot points trying to get the knobs and levers to move.
Tomorrow I'll roll around underneath it, change oil, check brake fluid and such.
The convertible top hydraulics is farther on down the list. The pump isn't even mounted and might need to be rebuilt. I'm sure i'll be picking you guy's brains on that thing.
I'm still waiting for my Dennis Carpenter catalogue.

Nice looking car - kind of makes me want to own one! Best of luck, you've come to the right place.
