steeringbox parts for RH Drive 1934
Hello
today I got the steering box out of my 34 Tudor and disassembled it for cleaning, adjusting. Unfortunately some "clever" soul ground a bit on the pinion teeth and the worm is worn a lot as well. I cannot get rid of a tight spot and have too much play elsewhere. So I decided to get new or very good parts for this box. Where can I order parts for the RH steeringbox or is it possible to use LH parts as well? Any hints where I get the proper parts - new or used? Thanks a lot Harty |

I seem to recall reading on here that LHD 34 worm is the same as RHD 35, so possibly LHD 35 will be the same as your RHD 34

Yes he makes a stock looking box that contains updated internals which in my experience transforms the steering -In both Left and Right hand versions -Karl

Vincent, let me know when you are ready to install the new gears, I have done just this on my 33 a year or so back and have the number of an o ring that fits into the recess for the housing cork gasket that is a perfect fit and the seal number for the sector shaft seal, also a drawing of the puller and installer I made up to remove and refit the worm to the steering shaft,
I,m away till wed so shoot me a PM then .if you are needing the info. |

I am looking at doing mine with 36 Ford LHD internals into the 34 Ford RHD housing to get a Ratio upgrade, I have heard it can be done successfully.

Re: steeringbox parts for RH Drive 1934
Yes, my parts are ordered and already on their way. As I am rebuilding the engine right now, I am happy to get the steering box back in the frame before the new engine is ready. It is really tight on the right side with steering box, starter and exhaust..
EDIT: Seems I need to speed up my engine rebuild as I received the parts today - 4 days after I ordered! cheers, Harty Last edited by vincent; 01-11-2021 at 04:51 AM. |
