Default red fuel gauge liquid: old vs. newer

What is the difference of the red-in-color fuel gauge liquid: the 'olde' FoMoCo vs. the aftermarket? WHY WAS THE RECIPE CHANGED!

What happened to the colossal amount of 'olde' FoMoCo "red" that was sold to dealers throughout the USA . . . and the world, for that matter.

Most all of the original EFV8 items are obtainable. Why not this original item?

Obviously there was a patent on this fluid . . . by somebody. But, everything manufactured has a patent, and, yet, it is "pay at this window" obtainable.

There is always someone that believes in something; to wit, a product that

he/she purchases in a 'massive' amount, thinking that it will be sought after

'down the road' despite that product was produced for only 4 years to a

limited number of customers. In this case FoMoCo, but there were other auto builders that used it as well.

Surely someone on this planet has barrelsful from 80+- years ago?

Why are we content not knowing thee answer? Is it because only a minor number of EFV8 owners need it?

Where is Columbo when we need him.

Do a search on the V-8 Club Forum for a source for the fluid. I gave a current source earlier this year or late last year.

Thank you petehoovie. I will contact and inquire if this is the ORIGINAL 'red'.

*** I did contact.

Again, is there anyone on the planet that has a source for the ORIGINAL 'red'?

My prior post has answerable question(s) that have not been answered! There are members @ Ford barn that have sage answers regarding ANY question submitted. What is the mystery!!!

There IS a POSITIVE difference re 'olde' vs newer.

ALTHOUGH I could be/might be wrong, thinking that the original 'red' was/is health-wise safe, and non-corrosive. BUT If this 'red' olde & newer is lethal, why hasn't the EPA knocked it off the market!!!

SURELY a chemical company can make a healthwise safe, and non corrosive product.

IF a big shot in USA society demanding a healthwise safe, and non-corrosive product, it would be accomplished! . . . . . or any civilized country regarding this subject, say, Sweden . . . . = yumpin' yiminny, we can do that!

USA: In the news today, The House and Senate today ordered a vile, each, to place in their chambers because it is downright flat-out purdy.

Their requests resulted in an immediate response from Carl Chemical as well as many other manufacturers because this gets their name(s) in the news!

Presidential candidate Andrew Arrogant has been holding a vile of 'red' between his thumb and forefinger at recent debates. When asked about it, he replies "I've got a early-early Ford V8" and there is an extreme shortage of this stuff, so I want to keep my eye on it and don't want to lose it. My first obligation during this term is to find a solution. I mean a red solution. Oh, excuse me for a second while I ask my running mate . . . George, what is the term for a word . . . say, solution, that can have two different meanings?

***

Thank you . . . . .!

Stored in an amber bottle for light sensitivity suggests that it will indeed fade upon exposure to sunlight....

Highbeam, not quite sure what you're on about....it is the tetra bromo that is the hazardous material, not the dye. The original dye, as I've said before, is Durant Scarlet Dye. Now, I dunno where you'd find that, maybe you should enquire if GM still have a Durant division?
It is evident that the t-b-e is available from several suppliers. What you need to find is a colourfast scarlet dye with which to colour it.
