50 Ford Crestliner Steering wheel
I need the pad that goes under the steering wheel horn ring. Any suggestions or how to make one? None of the parts suppliers seem to have one for the Crestliner steering wheel.

Re: 50 Ford Crestliner Steering wheel
That's the wheel I have but am told the insulator pictured in the post does not work with the Crestliner wheel. Any chance you could remove the horn ring a show a picture of whats underneath? Thanks.

Try contacting shoebox central in Oklahoma. They will know what you need andmay even have one or a source for it. I know these are reproduced so not sure if individual parts are available.

Re: 50 Ford Crestliner Steering wheel
Already talked to Chris and he says nobody makes the part for the Crestliner wheel. Just the one for the standard wheel is available.

Re: 50 Ford Crestliner Steering wheel
There is a persistent rumor that the Ford Crestliners actually used surplus steering wheels sourced from Frazers (look at the stylized "F"). Maybe a check of Kaiser/Frazer parts dealers might turn something up.

Re: 50 Ford Crestliner Steering wheel
This part looks correct to me. Here’s the inside of the accessory wheel, which is the crestliner wheel in a different color.

Re: 50 Ford Crestliner Steering wheel
They are not the same. I have both. They can be made out of weather stripping but it not easy. And if you don't get just right after a while the rubber looses its stength and the horn will hooks til the battery is dead.....

Re: 50 Ford Crestliner Steering wheel
That does not look like the interior of my steering wheel. Mine has the large nut that holds the wheel to the steering shaft.
