Question how to fix handle on S/W
Belongs to a 31 S.W. The door opens just fine using the handle BUT: mad: What is the best fix for his problem, the handle will not line up. The lock operates, there is a little binding on the lower hinge but that should not have any thing to do with the problem at hand. there also is some wear on the shaft but not to make hang down like this. It has been like this since I bought the car. thanks to all

That's internal wear. You have to rebuild the latches to get the slop out

I have took the handle off put it in a vise to twist so it would be in line with the other one.It is hard to fine door parts for the s/w.

The parts inside the latch are worn. It is easy to take apart and weldup the areas to fix the problem and make it like new.

Used to have more then comcast shut down their web serving. I put stuff back up when I have time and think about it. I have 2 small boys so that does not happen often.
