Default New to Fordbarn

Hello Fordbarn, I finally decided to check in to the party! Hoping I can learn a thing or two on here while I work on the enigma that is my Model A. She has given me and my local club a few surprises, such as all 4 shocks being replaced by Offenhauser frictions. Whoever thought to put these on a Town Sedan was a mad genius.

Looks like a fine Model A. First thing I would do is find a local Model A club to join. Then I would purchase the Les Andrews REDBOOK. There are all kinds of YOUTUBE videos out there on Model A....I recommend the Paul Shinn series. Also this is a fine forum with many knowledgeable folks. Be patient and drive you A as much as you can gradually increasing your radius from your home. If you take care of your A with routine maintenance, it will give you much pleasure.

Well thanks Gary, I appreciate it.

Being honest though, as a younger fellow I don't have much history to talk about yet, I'm hoping to make some with this car in short order.

It's a great car, mechanically near perfect though its paint is a 20 footer. The only things on this car ever truly restored were the engine and interior. Sometime in the near feature I'm going to try to bring the paint back and touch up the rust spots. The paint is a mystery to me, the previous owner said it was original paint yet it is single tone on a Town Sedan. One of the door hinges has a small spot of Apple Green, while the firewall in the engine bay is painted Vagabond Green, and the fuel tank is painted black on the interior.

Someday I'll find out what the deal is with the paint on this car, but at the moment it is a complete mystery to me.

I've already checked off most of that list, hoping to take it to its first show soon once I finish replacing the brake pedal bushings, tires, and checking tolerances on the brake system.

You're lucky to be young with your Model A, I waited much to long before getting off the Harley and into a Model A...wish I would have got one 40 years prior.
Creating a history...takes time...slow down...enjoy

And welcome
