Default Thanks for accepting me

Thanks for accepting me and greetings from Australia. I have been involved with Model A Fords since the late 70s with my father, I have owed a 28 Tudor and currently have a early 28 Sports Coupe build date 29th May 1928, imported from Canada.

Welcome to the Barn. Hope to see many more posts from down under. Tell us about what things you did with your father.

My father had a Model A “ back in the day” a 1930 Four door as his second car that would have been in the early 50s. His interest was rekindled in 1978 with the restoration of a 1929 phaeton then in the 80s with a 28 Tudor and in the 90s with a 28 roadster utility. I purchased a 28 Tudor in the 90s and now have the Sports Coupe. My father has since past and I continue with his love for old cars.

FWIW: The VIN is the date when the engine was approved after the run-in test and then stamped with the number . . . not the build-date of the car, unless you have other documentation.

Welcome aboard!

I also welcome you to the Ford Barn!! Over the years reading posts from other Model A owners from down under, I have learned that getting parts shipped from the states is very expensive and the availability of used original parts in Australia is somewhere between scarce and nil.
So hats off to our very dedicated friends who own and restore Model A's in Australia and New Zealand.

We welcome any and all folks the world over who will share in the hobby. It seems that the OP has more than just a little bit of experience with these old Fords. Feel free to offer up any comments or questions you may have. We are all still learning and this is a good site for it.

Where in Oz are you? A location in your profile helps.
Oh, and welcome.

Just like all men, unless you are made fun of, you are not truly accepted, so let me say Welcome and...here you go.
