Floor mat
Does anybody know where i can come across an Early style floor mat for an AR car or truck with the left hand emergency brake? I have the generic style, and i can make it work but if there is an early style i would like to buy it

Re: Floor mat
Someone had manufactured the very early 1928 touring a few years ago. Suggest that you possibly contact Bill Sturm in Neenah, Wisconsin. He possibly would know who had them. The one that was made, had the Ford script in the middle.

Re: Floor mat
I emailed brattons and my reply
To be honest I am really not sure. The only way I would do this is if they were all sold and I had at least a 50% non-refundable deposit. An idea of the price The 30-31 style came it at about $70 per mat, so I would expect the 28-29 to be a similar price. Jeffrey A. Kichilne I know i would be interested in one or two, and a few others said they would too. IF you are a COMMITTED and would purchase one please say so here so i can see if we can get a run made. when we see how many are committed to buy i will send the list to brattons and then the committed can send there payment to them I really hope this works out, this will great for all restorers. i really have to give brattons credit for going beyond what is expected to try and help people out with their restorations. |

Re: Floor mat
I suspect Bill made one by gluing several together. When you see this done, it is an amazing piece of artwork.

Re: Floor mat
I know this is a 2 year old thread, but I just got a May 1928 Phaeton, and I'd like to know if any progress was made on the production of the floor Mats

Re: Floor mat
No one makes them, they do have to be made by hand.

Re: Floor mat
I had talked to the supplier and he said if there was enough interest stirred up that they would do a run. but just like the motometer nuts that I just made some people would rather bash the idea and go with something that "works" instead of spending a little extra to get what is right. Reasons why some people are slowly leaving and not speaking much on here any more.
I did take a hole to front and glued a bunch of them together and made a correct mat for my truck john |
