Engine noise at idle. Has anyone heard this before?
I removed the fan belt and the random "ching" noise that was more pronounced at low idle was completely gone. So I figure somewhere in the water pumps or generator bearings, fan blade. With the belt removed (and engine off ) I tried to wobble the bearings by hand but they seem the same and without noticeable play. Thanks, Tom

Check to see if the tips of the fan are touching the bottom side of the top tank on the radiator.

Sounds like a broken pulley.

Fan blades or pulley..something external touching. To much play in pulley ot something so that it slides in and out and touches. Check for play....
