Default PVC Valve ?

Still trying to understand what I got. New-to-me '37 has Offenhouser intake, with this PCV valve on it.

Anyone recognize it? Who makes a PCV valve like this?

Don't want to touch it until I understand how it was attached. Catalog pics of the intake show this boss solid, no hole or fitting. So did the engine builder drill and tap a hole to receive a screw-in PCV valve?
