Mallory Electronic Ignition
Have a 1947 Ford with a Mallory Magnetic Breakless Distributor Part No. 5071601. With a 59AB Engine. Was running fine then it started to miss and backfire. The circuit diagram shows a Ballast Resister and a coil. What would be
The value of the resister and what voltage should there be at the coil? It's a 12 Volt Negative ground system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thamks, Bob Volt |

Re: Mallory Electronic Ignition
You need approx 3.0 ohms in the primary circuit. A 1.5 ohm coil and a 1.5 ohm resistor would work well. Also the Bosch Blue coil has 3.0 ohms and dont need a resistor..
