Splash apron questions.
I have assembled a bunch of parts for a 30 roadster and trying to put it together. The front fenders are original and I was told the splash aprons were too. I have some questions.
The notches in the splash aprons don’t line up with the holes in the frame, but the end of the splash apron does line up with the end of the running board. OK to cut new notches in splash aprons? The splash aprons do not have J channels to attach to running board. Running board has rubber on inside edge. Any suggestions on how to attach them together? Or just forget about it? Space between fender and front part of apron, do I just try and pull together with bolts or something else? Would like to get a handle on this before putting body back on. Yes it is a AV8 hot rod (99% of the HAMB guys don’t run fenders), and thanks in advance for any advise. Last edited by Fullfendered; 06-11-2018 at 11:16 AM. |

Re: Splash apron questions.
I think you will find that most of the guys here will tell you it's not OK to cut any sheet metal to make a rod.

Re: Splash apron questions.
You must have a repo running board/ splash apron. Running boards and splash aprons were one piece in 1930. That may be why the holes do not line up.

Re: Splash apron questions.
They didn't go to the one piece splash apron until late 1930 (Sept I think)
