Default Leather-wrapped steering wheel

My steering wheel was cracked and pitted in some places so I wanted to do something with it. Frankly, I can turn wrenches OK but I try to stay away from any kind of bodywork - filling, sanding, fine sanding etc. After seeing a thread on this forum about wheel upholstery I decided to go down this road. I am very happy with the result. The guys did a terrific custom job right in my garage.

Steering wheel looks great.
Was it done in Russia?

Thanks!
Yes, it was done in Russia, the upholstery company is in my little town, that's why they agreed to do it at my place. And because of that the price was about $100 including the materials.

Wheel looks great. Years ago I had the 39 Banjo that's in my deuce 3 window done by a company in Detroit that used the leather I furnished them, it looks very similar to yours.

Looks like that old school craftsmanship is alive and well in your country.

We have installed steering wheel wraps using a curved upholstery needle and plastic fishing line. The stitching is nearly invisible, and the fish line is extremely durable.

They offered me similar option but I wanted the stitching to be visible. I liked such style of stitching.
