1947 Mercury Woodgraining
The woodgraining on my new-to-me '47 Mercury convertible is amateurish at best and really doesn't look very good. At some point in the future, I'd like to take the dash apart and try to re-do the woodgraining to at least have a better, more accurate looking woodgrain job. I've seen a variety of different looking woodgrain on internet photos that all looks nice, but I have no idea what it should look like.
Does anyone have photos of reasonably correct woodgraining on a '47 Mercury? Thanks in advance.

I think is was mahogany grain. Here is a link to an EFV8 discussion. http://www.earlyfordv8.org/forum/vie...row=11&erow=20

Re: 1947 Mercury Woodgraining
This may give you an idea. I have some pictures taken in my 1947 Mercury Convertible Club Coupe that came from the factory in Monzoon Maroon. What you see is 100% original on my car and never was touched. Of course there may be some bleaching of the original tone. There is some rust coming through at the area below the radio. The door garnish moldings was ugly repainted by a previous owner and I had them redone when I restored the car but with a bad result.
