Default Ford H2O Heater

Hello, please help with Heater info.
This is in our 39’ Deluxe. What year is it ?
It has been wired to 12V. Fan works good in both directions.
Does it matter which heater hose gets hooked up as far as circulation ?
One hose comes off pass side lower radiator hose.
Other off intake manifold.
T/Y. Stretch

The fitting on the cylinder head should supply the heater and should be attached to the lower connection on the heater core. This is to prevent air being entrapped in the core. The coolant return from the heater is plumbed from the upper connection on the heater to the lower radiator hose.

Zeke, that is the way previous owners had it plumbed.

Just a note to say, The fan will only blow air correctly in only ONE of the two directions.

That is a later heater, probably 42-48. A 39 heater looks VERY much like a 40 except for the color and the shape of the 2 handles and possibly the "toe guard" at the bottom.

It's a 42-48 heater. As long as one hose is hooked to the head and the other goes to the lower hose as described the heater doesn't care which line goes where on it. Reversing the fan motor forces air through the defrost ducts as I'm sure you know but apparently some commenters don't.

Meric, thanks for posting info.
Stud , yes it spins / blows good in both directions.
We kind of knew it was not 39’ Heater, because the bottom door can never be open and be able to shift the trans.

1st test drive with Heater plumbed up & 12V .
Should of wrapped a couple of 🌭’s in foil, and put on top of heater box.

When I was young anything with a heater was a plus in the winter. I at one time cut apart an under-dash AC unit and ran coolant through it. talk about roasting chestnuts on an open fire. S!it howdy them flatheads will make some btu's with Tstats. Sorry probably went too far.
