Talking My Fiddy Three

Well, the time has come to post some pics of the Sunliner. Dug out of the dirt in Fresno, and drug it home, According to the scale had over a hundred pounds of debris in the car. Last run in 1969. Has a EAB but I got lucky, no water in the crankcase. Well here's to ya!

Nice project, looks like a '52, not '53. I've had our '53 Sunliner for 41 years, and I love her.

A little polishing and it will be good as new....under all that beats the heart of a true classic.

wga, actually Turners..I think it was one of the last complete..w/engine and trans. I even scored an overdrive, but I understand there is a clearance problem with the solenoid.

At least someone had enough forethought to put two hoods over the convertible top to protect the interior.

The drop tops with overdrive had a special rocker plate that bolted on and mounted the operating solenoid in a different position utilizing a rocker arm to actuate the pawl into the balk ring. This positions the solenoid down underneath the transmission instead of sticking out the left side. If you have an X member frame, you will need one of the solenoid addapters. I've seen several fabricated set ups on the HAMB that work just like the OEM assembly does so if you can't find one then one can be fabricated.
