Default Flathead fuel pump stand??

Anyone make a side mount fuel pump stand. We are using a dual carb fenton intake and the stock fuel pump stand hits the rear carb.
Would like to use the stock pump. Looks like if it was shifted to the side a bit it would work.
Sure we have a electric pump but would like to use the stock pump and stand on our project if possible...

Can't you just cut the base off, reposition, and reweld it?

It's die cast. That's kind of strange, as generally they rotated the mounting flange on aftermarket manifolds to get clearance.

I made a spacer plate for under the stand. I needed the heigth. You could rotate for your clearance. I welded up a piece of bar on the pushrod to retain length. I used 3/8 alum for the spacer.

It could...trim base flange of pump, use late stand. make extended push rod or perhaps turn down ends of 8BA rod and it would PROBABLY tuck into back of carb.
Then drill out both sides of the stand and run hoses up to a breather can with air filter (normal race car part) to restore ventilation path. We have not seen the front of the manifold..could it be that this is a '49-53 manifold rather than a planning error by Fenton??
I don't think the more compact pre-1946 pump offers any benefits in the needed place, and you sure don't want the smaller '35 era pump.
Another tangential thought would be carb risers, which Ron has said are a major improvement on the ultra low manifolds like this, but I'm not sure even that could be cut into enough to clear the pump as it is. Perhaps you could slot the back of the riser, with nut and short stud below pump flange, stud set into riser at top...
I'd call up Fenton and complain!!
I actually have the Fenton instructions for installing their manifolds, but right now I have no idea where that stuff is.

Acquired?? I'd say that is a lower casting plugged into an upside down lower casting by shortened upper tube, then a third stock mount on top of those with a circa 1937 breather thrown in! Crazy complicated but a damn clever way to stack up the stuff into a usable format. Pushrod obviously is entirely custom.

I have an 8ba stand if it will work for you.

Let me know if you want it, Bubba.

8ba stand would most likely work, but how do you go about get the crank breathing flow to work and the oil fill is gone? You could fit an under manifold PCV . Oil fill HMMM!

Jim have you tried an all metal type pump,i believe theres more clearance where your having trouble. That is pump is narrower in that area. ken ct. Sorry no its not just put the 2 pumps and it will stick out the same amount,SORRY. ken ct.

Will it work if you rotate the fuel pump stand 180 degrees? Then you just have to run a longer hose.

Make a adapter plate, rotate the original a few degrees to clear the carburetor, maintain center and use a extended pump shaft the thickness of the adapter plate.

I've made a couple of fuel pump stands, use exhaust tubing and 1/4" plate. Build a baffle for the fuel pump so that added oil doesn't flood it. This was for a clearance problem at firewall of the A roadster pictured. I kept the fuel pump in the same place and moved the stand centerline forward.
I used a bit of 1/4" aluminum plate to twist the (stock) fuel pump stand for a Merc manifold on a different car- made the push rod longer to make up for the plate.

Bubba, since the fuel pump and push rod are tied together, why don't you put a 1" or 2" spacer under each carb and lift them up and out of the way.....also, by doing that, you will get a 5 HP boost...anyway that is what I did......Matt in Alameda

We looked at that today, the risers get in the way as well.

Jim: Looks like you need about 1 inch of forward movement of the pump. and a spacer plane under the pump stand and turn the pump some, a fuy degrees, maintain the center line for a longer pushroad ,,,and your good to go.... OLD....BILL

Show us the front end of the manifold, I'm guessing you have an 8BA Fenton intake, because every early Fenton I've seen has the "turned" fuel pump mount.

How about using the older stye pump without the glass bowl. They seem to be smaller in size.

If you use the 8BA stand, Offy makes a large oil pan breather that would bring back the venting you are losing by using it.
