Ken,
We just discussed that last week on 9-4-12. Or you can go to
http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...light=gas+tank

My tank had been sealed before and apparently not done right. It was futile to seal over the old seal as it would continue to release from the tank. I have a new one on the way from Mac's.

AFTER cleaning my F-1 tank and sealing it I still found that small pieces of "stuff" would (over time) clog up the fuel filiter and the engine would stop running. 15 years ago I found a solution. I removed the shut off value from the bottom of the tank and soldered a 1/2" length of copper tubing to the inlet side.
The theory is that fuel is no longer drawn from the bottom of the tank and, therefore, all the debris remains in the tank.

33,000 miles later I have not had the engine stop because of the lack of fuel.

Good luck.
