Default Turn signals

I'm putting turn signals on a 42 PU, Auto Lamp 9000 and I can't get them to flash. All the wires lite up with my tester, have the power to the ignition switch. Is there somwhere else I need to hook the power to,instead of switch. Im running individual lites for the signals Thanks

My "turn signal knowledge" is limited but in all the cases that I have encountered the key to make all of it work was to have power to the turn signal switch and then the other lights (parking, brake, turn signal) were controlled by the movement (left, right, off) of the turn signal switch.

I am sure others will offer you more info. What type/brand/model of turn signal switch are you using?

Good luck!

Go to www.painlesswiring.com
Item number 30120 Turn Siganl & Hazard Flash Switch Kit
Go to the manual for that item and there is instructions and diagram.
This kit uses a toggle switch, Lime Works also has a kit nice unit that
mounts on the column, I'm using it on my 41 pickup.

Do you have a wiring diagram for the switch? If not, it can be found with a google search.

A switched source of power such as the ignition is the correct way to supply power. If it is connected like the wiring diagram and you have bulbs in the lights, I would suspect the flasher.

I believe power goes to the flasher and then to the stalk.

what voltage are you running? 6 or 12, could be the flasher-bulbs are not the correct voltage

THIS IS FOR WHAT THEY CALL A SEVEN-WIRE DIRECTIONAL/EMERGENCY FLASHER SYSTEM ..... To have power for the emergency flashers at all times, you must power it directly from battery thru a 5 amp fuse to the "+" terminal of the flasher canister. The other two terminals of the Flasher unit are wired into the column-mounted Directional Control device. You must also connect to the brake light switch to the latter. Google "Cal Speed Shop,. Sacramento CA and download their wiring diagram. This diagram does not include the typical two-indicator lights that go on the dash board to show when brakes lights are on and when flasher lights are flashing. Dan
