I have a flathead 226 I just purchased, im having a problem setting the distributor and how to line it up to the #1cylinder.
I upgraded the ignition system to a pertronix
Anyone have pointers for me?

Put the points and condenser back in and start over.

What 226, G series or H series? The distributors are completely different between the two and the trouble shooting for one doesn't apply to the other.

I also recommend getting the engine running with points, then switching to electronic ignition (if you must) once you know how it runs. Diagnosing points can be done with the engine not running unlike the Pertronix.
