Recently changed to I-phone 11 & pics all fail to load on FB? Thinking too much data? Anyone have or solved issue?

Re: Pics data to much FB?
Could you e-mail it to yourself to reduce it size? I know when you e-mail photos from the phone it asks you what size file you want to send.

Re: Pics data to much FB?
I’ll try the e-mail, I tried sending to myself as a txt & it didn’t ask what size. Real PIA. Be great if FB could make it easier?

Re: Pics data to much FB?
Hi Anthony,
I prefer taking most of my pictures with a small Nikon digital and then resizing on my computer. I have recently been using the free version of "Snapseed" and it includes the ability to resize. I have an iPhone 7. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner and then "Settings" at the bottom. You now have various saving options to pick from. |

Re: Pics data to much FB?
On your phone there should be an option in "camera settings" to reduce the picture size the camera takes. Will save time when uploading so you don't need to reduce each picture but if you want to take a nice quality megapixel picture you need to change it back in "settings."

I just use PC, no smart phone and seems fb changed size allowable. I don't
do well with change. was happy with windows 7. I know I'm old. |

Re: Pics data to much FB?
I just did some playing around. My belief is like AnthonyG suspects, it's about the size of the file on disk/storage/phone.
I don't think the pixel dimension of your .JPG or .JPEG makes any difference. I was able to get a photo that was 2010 KB to upload, but not one that was 2050 KB. The attachment page says the limit sould be 589.5 KB but don't think it's accurate or up to date. The type of control that phones and cameras will give you is limiting the pixel dimensions. Depending on the complexity of the image (colors, details) the smaller pixel dimensions will give smaller file sizes (with less actual data in them).
