Default Does this look right?

Shouldn't this hole be covered by the rear main cap?

Try this picture. Shouldn't the oil slinger groove be covered up by the cap?

No it is not covered on the A but was change on the B to cover. You just need to be sure the slinger was installed with a sealer like permatex A2 or the like.

Here's a picture of the last engine I put together. The next picture is the main caps from my 1928 engine. Notice the difference in the rear main cap.

I see it now. The older cap covers the crescent key in the upper bearing half (i.e. block.)

Yes, Permatex before all.

So Tom, Ford made it this way? Won't oil come out if the sealer loosens? And I don't have a shim on that side. My engine is a 1928. I am looking for reassurance. Thanks for your help. Tim PS I live across the river in Turtle Lake, Wi
