Default 29 coupe, wood and brackets

Hello,
New to the hobby, I have a '29 standard coupe with no wood or brackets. I am finding trouble locating references for wood replacement and where to locate the brackets that install with the wood kits. If anyone can point me in the correct direction that would be great. Or if anyone has a project going and can provide pictures of the brackets so I can get an idea of what I need to fabricate.

Thank you, Kurt

Bert's Modelastore.com might have the metal brackets you need, Snyders also has them in repro. Give Berts a call they are good guys and will help you. Someone on here will most likely give the heads up on the wood.

Thanks for the response, I talked to snyders, they said that no one he knew of makes repo brackets. They only have 30-31. I talked to a guy at berts and he is suppose to look and get back to me. He did not sound very hopeful.

If I could see pictures of what and where I can fab them. I was told that the 29 is not even close to a 30 so all the references I thought I was going to be able to use are no good.

I will check into fordwood and classic wood.

Thank you

Are you sure yours is a standard coupe and not a special? Ford listed sales in both as standard coupe but the special version had a vinyl covered roof to the belt line and the standard a steel roof except for the center section. The special has much more wood in the top and the brackets are different. Just wondering, mine is a special as in my avitar picture.

If your car is a 29 special coupe, I have pictures of the top brackets when I was installing the new top. I always though the same brackets were used for a standard coupe also, but maybe not. The pair of brackets I am referring to fit above the B pillar and hold the main bow in place (heavy top bow). There are three other simple brackets on each side (corners and under the complex bracket over the B pillar). I am attach a picture of the drivers side showing the four brackets on the top. I think you can see the brackets in the picture. Unfortunately for you, my car is 95% done and the brackets are covered up now with the headliner.

Brackets and braces for the standard coupe are going to be tougher than finding them for a business coupe, but they are out there. Good luck. Rod

Rusty,

I have a Standard Coupe, I was able to get two brackets from Bert's in Co. They are the same as in your picture. The ones above the B piller. Thank you for the picture, I have really been having trouble finding literature/pictures on this. There was no wood etc in the car when I bought it so I am flying blind.
