Default 1939 ford skipping

Guys, my 1939 ford with 59AB engine skips from idle up to about 1200-1400 RPM where it smooths out and runs great. I've gone through the distributor, set points, and changed cap and rotor. What next?

TIA Richard

At idle, do the idle adjust screws affect rpm as you close them, and if so, are they set about a quarter to half turn open from where closing them causes rpm to fall off? If no effect, check float level and integrity of the power valve.

Check the accelerator pump and make sure it shoots a good stream of gas when activated.

Richard. If it skips, it's happy, just like playing hopscotch. LOL Like all us old folks it just takes a little to get us going. How are you doing old friend? Still fooling with Jeeps? Lawson.

just a thought get some auto start [ether] and spray lightly around throttle shafts sounds like they could be leaking[ the ether will cause a change in idle]
