Default 1932 pickup drivers side spare tire mount

My recently purchased 1932 pickup has a fender mounted spare on the drivers side. Almost all the pictures I see show it on the passenger side. It is decidedly inconvenient on the drivers side as the door hits the spare everytime I get in or out. Was either R.H. or L.H. mount optional? Were dual side mounts available on the pickup? Thanks,

Richard Grace

Which side was the buyer's choice if he placed a retail order, other wise the default location was opposite the driver. Dual side-mounted spares was an extra-cost option on all '32s as was the single side mount on passenger cars.

Your door should not touch the spare unless you have an oversize tire and/or the wrong door check strap.

On our little 34 pickup we had to down size the spare to a 5.50 tyre so it would physically fit in the well , how could we get this to fit the correct size tyre.

Hi all; The factory welled lft front frnders 32/34 are a premimum item, please don't weld them up. Some fellows are looking for them. I sold mine to 'true blu 32' and then he passed. he had two cabriolets. Newc

I believe the larger wheel base trucks with wider & larger dia. wheels had appropriately sized wells.
