Aftermarket turn signal problems
We are trying to put aftermarket turn signals on our 31 , bought 2 small LED lights for the back of the car so they have nothing to do with the stop/turn lights. Then bought a United Pacific turn signal lever and a 3 prong flasher. The 31 is a 12 volt system. We wired it up exactly by the diagram but it doesn't want to work , we are getting power to the flasher. Sometimes lights will come on next time not , had them flashing while everything was laying on the work table but back on the car ..nothing. Have power, good ground, bought a second flasher. Could it be those new plastic see thru flashers ? Do you need a special flasher for LED's ? Anyone had problems with the United Pacific turn signals ? People these days have no clue what arm signals are so I need turn signals bad ! Lol

Re: Aftermarket turn signal problems
Wrong place for your question; but due to the low current draw, LED lights need either an electronic flasher or a load resistor (sometimes called load equalizer)wired onto each light.
Probably get more replies on the main Model A board. Last edited by rich b; 07-19-2018 at 07:39 AM. Reason: extra |

Re: Aftermarket turn signal problems
Try the Novita EP34 flasher, it does not blink due to load but through timing somehow. NAPA is where I got mine. Note: the EP34 is for 6 bulbs, including anything on the dash. The EP35 is only for 4 bulbs.

Re: Aftermarket turn signal problems
Wasn't really a Model A question. Just an aftermarket lighting question. I seen the heading " have a question , no sweat man" so I went for it. Lol But thank you for the input , I'm gonna give these lights another go.

Posting it in the the A, early V8 or late V8 section will get more help. Plenty of guys have been doing it.
