36 geaar box
any advice/problems putting 47 gears into a36 box ??? thanks,,,,

Every thing will fit as long as you also have a late top assembly, I think 39 and later with the "Big" second third gear Fork. I like to use a 78- Case if you have one. There is a little more material between the input shaft bearing bore and the front counter shaft bore. The 36 case will work just fine if you do not intend to get too rough with it.
If you are using a 29 Tooth cluster, be sure to check for adequate clearance in the bottom of the case at the front. Sometimes, with earlier cases, this area can be marginal with 29 Tooth Clusters. The "Late" gears will fit all the way back to the 32 "B" and "V-8" cases as long as you use the late top. I hope this helps, Chris Last edited by CWPASADENA; 07-15-2010 at 05:17 PM. Reason: TYPO |
