Default Ford Block Letter Plugs

I have four NOS Ford Block letter plugs, Thats all well and good, have been told they are for the Early 32 V8 ? Here is the kicker I think, All of the bases are the exact same as the 30/31 3X Model A Plugs..All have never been taken apart as far as I can tell, no wrench marks not even a scratch.. Others say the C-4 is the correct one, HELP !!

FORD is on them in block letters. These are thought to be service parts vs. factory installed.

Champion C-4-X plugs were used initially on '32 V8s and superseded by C-4 plugs. While the bases of the C-4-X and C-4 plugs are similar to the Model A and early Model B 3X plugs, they are not the same.

As Mike indicates, Champion-Ford plugs (those with Ford in red block letters on the insulator) are thought to be service plugs and they lacked the identity of the plug (in other words, no 3X, C-4-X, C-4, etc. markings on the insulators). From your description of the base, my guess is that you have Champion-Ford 3X plugs as shown in the upper right corner in the photo below.

Ok & Thanks, But the 3X plugs you show do not have the correct base on them.. The plugs I have do look like the one you show with the block "FORD" on them but with no m, s, or any other #s or letters.. The correct 3X bases have the raised knurling all the way to the bottom of the base.. The ones I have do have the block FORD, but are in the correct 1930/31 3X bases..?? Fred..

I can't speak to Model plugs, but with regard to '32 plugs, we agree to disagree.

Knowing Dave as well as I do, well, without hesitation, I'd toss all of my betting money on him being 100% correct. My gosh, this man has probably forgotten more about 32 - 34 Fords than the combined total of the rest of us will ever know.
