Remove the seat
Disconnect the fuel line / drain the tank
Remove the filler tube/hose
If you have a tool box on top of the tank, Remove the bolts holding it to the cab
Remove the wire to the fuel sender
Remove the rest of the bolts holding the tank in- they are all at the top

Easy stuff. Is there a problem with the tank?

Messing with the gas tank is always sketchy for me. I heard a story recently about a guy working on his F1 gas tank and he burned his shop to the ground. The vapors got to the electric heater he was using in his shop. Fortunately he was not injured severely, only minor burns.

Take care when draining it and capture the fuel in a spare fuel container to protect from an ignition source. It’s not uncommon when I work on the truck on a creeper to get a static charge when I touch the frame or a running board, which is why I am extremely careful when a fuel source or fuel vapor source is present.

Be careful with that fuel shut off valve when you "yank the tank."
I caught the brass ears of the valve on the opening in the floor of the cab
and almost pulled the handle off the valve. I brazed the handle back onto the valve stem.....

Yes. Replacements can be had from a number of resellers. Often best to replace the gasket and filler tube hose as well.
