Engle's A & T Parts
Hello All,
Anyone have information on a supplier named Engle's A & T Reproduction Parts, from Middletown, Ohio ? In 1988, I bought 6 very accurate '30-'31 Model A hub caps from them. Thanks |

Re: Engle's A & T Parts
I think you may be referring to Felix Engle who made good stuff, I don’t think he’s still alive.
Regrets if wrong! It was sold and operated as Ahooga parts Shut down amidst financial problems as well as delivery of product Long gone and to my understanding tooling and dies scrapped Too bad |

Re: Engle's A & T Parts
As Bill said above, Felix did sell to Dale at Ahooga which filed for bankruptcy last year. As I understand it, the tooling was scrapped by the bank during the repossession. Many reproduction parts that we were used to having are longer available due to this closure.

Re: Engle's A & T Parts
When I was a practicing CPA I worked for many bankruptcy trustees as accountant
It would seem to me that the bank, likely as creditor, did poor due diligence in not search for best value of tooling. It could have easily been sold to another manufacturer. The bank may have got their money but left others dangling or “without” Not unusual if they were creditor in possession. They got theirs; too bad for others......just a possibility Another bites the dust |

How sad, and what a loss. In 1988, I bought 6 of these for $58.00, and have an un-cashed refund check for over payment on the shipping!!! Never seen a higher quality repro hub cap.

Re: Engle's A & T Parts
For the ignorant among us, what is "secondary tooling" in this context?

Re: Engle's A & T Parts
secondary tooling would be anything needed to go from the main stamping to the finished product. For example it could be a jig to hold a piece for drilling holes, it could be a part that take multiple dies to make the part complete... Lots of different things get considered as secondary tooling, but none the less it's need to make a final component.

Re: Engle's A & T Parts
I sent (at my own expense) a 28-mid 30 CCPU floorpan to Ahoogh A & T for a pattern about 5 or 6 years ago. I called them 5 or 6 times, about once a year, to see if they were making progress on the tooling to die stamp duplicate floorpans. They kept stalling me and I never got a new die stamped floorpan they promised me or my original floorpan back. However, they did make some good die stamped sheetmetal. I believe Steve left the company a year or two before they went bankrupt. I think he was the main guy key to the companies products. That probably doomed the company.

I think, over the years, most of us have loaned stuff out that never found it's way back.
