Default taking camshaft out

[/IMG]just wanted to share how i got it out read every article that i could find and came up with this easy way that worked for me , make sure that the clothes pins are new, jiust an idea , getting ready for b cam and head replacement 25 minutes to get the cam out

a little slow on the picts took me a few minutes to get them to work

Under the valves, I use fender horseshoe shims.Work the same but yours are cheaper. Are the tappets adjustable?

everything i read said to compress the spring and take out the keeper figured there had to be an easier way

The head is interesting without any relief for the pistons. Wonder what sort of popup you have and what brand and thickness head gasket you are using? Gar Williams

Getting ready for a B cam!!! You will probably need adjustable lifters because B lifters are longer than a lifters. With A lifters, non adjustable, you will probably have too much gap.

Model A lifters are about 1/32" shorter than B lifters.Go with the self locking adjustables as they are much easier to adjust.Ford specs on valve clearance are INT .010-.013 EX .020-.022 for B cams.Make sure the lifters will hold their adj. Model A valve clearance is INT .010-.013 EX .015-.017.
