Default Origianl photo of the striping on a '38 Pickup

This truck is new enough in this photograph, probably taken in 1938 or 1939 that the hub caps have never been off. Note they are still oriented to the valve stem clocked by the factory.

The negative was included in a collection of negatives made by a Tonopah Nevada professional photographer that I was able to purchase from his grandaughter. The negs span 1937 - ish to 1951 or so. I believe this may have been taken in Beatty, NV. I'd not seen a pin-striped pickup before.

I kept zooming with the scanner to see if it was a 60HP or an 85 but the resolution just wasn't there, even in a 5X7 neg.

I've uploaded the full uncropped image. On looking at the zoom of just the pickup with better resolution you can see pictures of girls behind the screen in the window. Is this the whore house in Beatty, and the woman is the "madam"? Quite possibly.

That is how I have my '39 pickup striped. I'd post a picture but I'm at work. Hard at it as you can tell, ha!

Where can I find the possible combinations of stripe color to body color? My PU is Dartmouth Green and I would like to get it striped.

My truck is Jefferson Blue. I chose an off white color for the stripe. It has a hint of yellow. I have a man in town here that is a sign painter. He does a great job with pin striping as well. Paints it all on by hand.

Commercial vehicles were unique in that you can choose these colors as you like. Remember that many of the commercial vehicles were painted a custom color for advertising or fleet purposes anyway. Just choose a stripe color that compliments the body color.
