Default Manual wiper

I bought a manual hand operated windshield wiper thinking it would be easy to make it work and fit well on my ‘29 Tudor. Obviously I was wrong. Anybody with any helpful ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Bob and Rocket. I extended the shaft on the wiper and made the bracket and tube today. It still needs a little fine tuning and paint before I put it in. Thanks again for the help.

I’m not sure if the bracket is available from any vendor. I made my own bracket and tube and also extended the wiper shaft. It isn’t correct to the car but it works very well.

Gary, I bought it from Mikes. Part # A17655AR in their catalog. Keep in mind, it isn’t correct for a closed car. I put it in a ‘29 Tudor. I don’t plan to purposely drive in the rain, but if it happens I’m a little better prepared.

My pickup did not come with the wiper the one I found had a short shaft so I welded a length of rod to make it serviceable possible you could locate the bracket on a junked out windshield frame

I was curious as to what wiper you started with. I have a '28AA with the tube in the windshield, but no wiper hardware. I don't plan to ever drive in the rain either, but my plans are often modified by events. It is better to have something than find yourself out in the rain with nothing.

My '31 Bud Cab Pickup came to me with a hand wiper. Of course, it was not correct, as well as the rubber was gone. I replaced it only to discover that it didn't work worth a damn. Eventually replaced it with an aftermarket electric pair from Newport Engineering. Haven't looked back at all. Have also been caught out on tour in several downpours where it came in pretty handy.

I don't know who I bought my wiper from last year but I just installed it in my 28 roadster and it fits and works perfectly. There was no tube and mine fits through the window frame hole perfectly. I guess I got lucky some how. I might have bought it from Mike's but not sure.

My '29 CCPU was my daily while in grad school 1979-1985. I drove it all year around including cross country (Cincinnati-Dallas-Naples, Fl-Cincinnati) and never missed a motorized wiper. Hand wiper was great. But I use Rain-X in my 30 Tudor with no wiper.
