IMO it's not the coupe that has the high value, but the prvidence that goes with it. As long as it can be proven to be Dillingers car, then it is worth it as it has history.

The car as a vehicle is NOT worth anywhere near that, and also note it was restored and all the traces of the get away, bullet holes, blood have been removed

After a valve job including springs and guides, distributor replacement, carb rebuild, can't get cylinders 1 and 2 to fire under load. Compression over 60 in each cylinder. Any ideas? Can't find any leaks, runs well at idle. 1929 Model A. Thanks.

I don't know of any that sold reciently but I believe a nicely restored town car or town car delivery would be priceless.

You'll have to ask this question in a new thread, since this thread is about most expensive Model A's.

BTW, you need to use a vaccum guage to check engine performance at different speeds. You might have siticking valves on 1 and 2.

There is a 1930 Tudor that has a body made of stainless steel. Last I heard the owner was willing to sell it for $500,000. There were 3 S.S. Model As made and this is the only one known to exist. There are other rare Model As out there that may bring over $100,000.

I'd give him 2 $50,000 cats and 3 $100,000 dogs for it.

Jeff, You are right, they should have left it alone. it would have been worth a lot more as a part of history then the way it is now, to bad.
here's a very good example.

Thanks for the heads up on the book! I will have to check this one out, as I do like to sit back with a stiff drink and a good book.

Im sure Dillinger liked the faster V8 also but what i have read he did not have time to car shop, he just wanted to put some distance between him and the Keystone cop's. I think he only drove the A model coupe about 200 miles before he traded it in [quick trade] on a 32 ford V8.
I also read that the old couple that he stole the A model from said he was very polite.

I wonder how much Lincoln's chair from the Ford theatre would be worth if were re-upholstered and re-gilded? Some things are best left as-is.

I'd like to know what proof they have to confirm that it was actually the car Dillinger used. Many such claims on things of this nature are often completely bogus.

I remember years ago there were quite a few Bonnie & Clyde cars out there! ..... Of course all were authentic; just ask the owner.

They used this FBI report for one, plus im sure Barrett-Jackson auction would not have adv. it if they could not prove it..... Not a small co.

Default Dillinger's Model A Coupe in The Restorer

There is an excellent write up of the Dillinger Coupe in the November/December 2009 Volume 54, Issue 4 of The Restorer starting on page 20. The article includes original photos and clippings of the car.

Fordially,

Dillinger also stole my Roadster.

I'm typing up the documentation as we speak, which will accompany the vehicle to the first person that sends $150,000.

Cash or money orders, please.
