Default Instruction Video's

Just wondering if any of you boys have bought some of those instruction-repair videos.."Brakes" , "Tune-up", "Trouble shooting" that most dealers offer ? Are they worth the money to someone new like me who doesn't know much about the Model A ?

Speaking personally (and I don't have the Model A videos) I think books are a better bet. I've viewed some how-to videos related to work I was doing on my motorcycle and didn't find them as convenient/useful as a book.

A book you can set on the fender while fiddling with the timing, it won't don't mind if you touch it with greasy hands, and it's easy to flip back-and-forth between pages/illustrations. Try that with your DVD player :-)

I highly recommend the Les Andrews books, though there are times when I wish he would have included a bit more detail.

I like both. Reading about a project and seeing a diagram helps a lot, but it is nice to see the job performed, too. I guess I am a visual learner and the DVD help complete the learning for me. If you join a local club they may have a library of both books and DVDs . After your review, you can buy the things that are most helpful to you for your personal library. Have fun, Bill

The video that was done a number of years ago about restoring brakes narrated by Lloyd Kerr is excellent. It covers the entire brake system and has some portions in animated form. I used it countless times the first time I went through a brake system.

The one on carburetors is also very good. I think the title is "Carburetor Carbohides". The Dallas club had something to do with both these videos.
