Mart's update: 2021 No6. Ol' 59 Flatty Project Pt. 22. Bottom end button up.
Hello. Welcome to a new video from Mart's Garage.
This week will feature more progress on the Ol' 59 Flatty. The rods and pistons went in last time, this week I deal with the oil pump, flywheel, clutch, oil pan and front pulley, including a TDC pointer by the solid stop method. The videos are up to date on the 32, so I'm playing catchup on the 59A. Hopefully soon I can marry up the two projects and fit the motor in the 32. I'm having fun doing this build, hopefully you can have fun watching. Take care and I'll catch you next time. Cheers!. Mart. https://youtu.be/34r5w7pjkgw |

Thanks for all the videos Mart, I enjoy all of them. I'm playing "catch-up" about ready to start assembling. I ordered a re-manufactured rod off of ebay to replace the one that has a bit of a loose bushing. It looks really good but the bushing has not been fitted for the wrist pin. so I'm getting closer

Does that crank nut need a belleville spring washer to keep it from coming loose? You are not dealing with a crank mounted fan, but I learned the hard way that having that come loose can let the fan pull the pulley far enough forward to wipe out the radiator.
