Default How much movement is normal?

Pulled the rear end and placed it on my assembly bench. (30 CCPU)

Before I disassemble it, there is some up and down/side to side movement on the ends of both axle shafts and the front of the drive shaft. Everything turns very easy.

What amount of "play" is normal? If excessive, what do you think is causing this and what's the recommended fix?

Thanks!

The rear hubs and bearings are used to center the rear axles, so slop there without the hubs is normal. The drive axle shouldn't have much movement because the bearing is at the front of the torque tube to hold it in place.

Thank you, Tom. You are the best.

I now remember you saying that in as earlier post. Hell to get old..

The front drive shaft has very little movement. Is it normal to replace the front roller bearing and sleeve? Other bearings? Seem to remember from the first 2 As that the other original Timkens are seldom bad.
