Default Notes about timing

In reading about Mr. Sondenaa's article on timing, it is stated that, if the distributer cam is turned clockwise, it is advanced, if it is turned counterclockwise it is retarded, I think there is a typographical error in the artical of the new issue of the Restorer Magazine. I believe it should be counter clockwise to advance. clockwise to retard. I have read many of Mr. Sondenaa's articles in the past and found them most informative. Someone correct me If I am wrong.
