Default Rear Bumper Installation

I have a late 31 Coupe and would like to know which way the support bracket faces. I am talking about Snyder's part number A-17798. This piece supports the inner end of the bumper. The part that engages the bumper is off-center to one side. Does the off-center part face the center of the car or should it face the outside?

I drove my '30 town sedan for about 15 years with one side facing inside and the other facing the outside. I noticed the difference but just thought one side was a little bent. One of my "A Team" buddies saw this and told me how to fix it. It was a fast easy fix. Live and learn!
