WANTED: 28-29 Dash Rail for Closed Car
WANTED: Buyer for 28-29 Dash Rail for Closed Car.
Seller with a tenacious ambition to sell above item has now reached 165 btt, and has been on the SWAP MEET section for 6 years now, trying to sell this Dash Rail. The man's tenacity has to be admired. The price is fair enough*, and I am quite surprised to find that no one needs a closed car Dash Rail. Does anyone have any ideas why this item has not sold? Now I have to find out what "btt" stands for. ---------------------------------------------------- *"Unrestored, original condition with anti-rattle rubber grommets on back of screw holes. No modifications or extra holes. Very nice $100. includes free shipping" |

I've guessed it stands for "Back To Top".

Back to top. If someone does not type a reply to the post it slips down. BTT brings it back up to the top of the forum.

Re: WANTED: 28-29 Dash Rail for Closed Car
The price for the dash panel is NOT reasonable in my opinion. Why do you think the dash panel has been on the swap section of Fordbarn for 6 years if it is reasonable in price. Decent closed car dash panels can be purchased from $20 to $40 at swap meets and on eBay. In my opinion, the relisted dash panel is just clogging up the swap section. If he really wants to sell the panel, lower the price!!!! It would be nice if the system administrator would remove the listing permanently. I don't think the "out of date" lister will ever quit relisting it.

X2 Rusty.
I just picked one up for my '28 Tudor off eBay for $35.00 with free shipping that only needs a bit of clean and paint. |

Mike V, post #3: "Back to top. If someone does not type a reply to the post it slips down. BTT brings it back up to the top of the forum."
---------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you Mike, for the answer to my question. It had been bothering me each time I saw it on all the various posts. Now I can sleep at night. ------------------------------------------------------------------- And now I know why the Dash Panel does not sell. It is waaay over-priced. Still, being over-priced has never stopped an item from selling - in six years. Perhaps he is listing in the wrong market place. The seller would do better marketing it to less-educated Model A market place - like eBay. But perhaps it is listed there too. As someone has said, his 'dead' ad does clutter up the space. But I suppose it is much like a noisy street - after awhile you just don't notice the sound. |

Post # 1: ". . . has been on the SWAP MEET section for 6 years now . . . "
___________________________________ I mis-informed due to mis-reading the start date. The post has only been on the SWAP MEET classifieds for a mere 12 months - one year. |

That's business.
A seller wants to have as much as possible. A buyer wants it for free. Eventually it will be sold. |

Re: WANTED: 28-29 Dash Rail for Closed Car
I emphatically disagree with this assertion! A buyer does not want it free, they want it for a fair price. To suggest otherwise demonstrates a lack of marketing knowledge. Wayne

Re: WANTED: 28-29 Dash Rail for Closed Car
3.6rs, I disagree, some things are just not price right to sell and probably never will. I suppose there might be some dim wit out there with more money than sense, that might possibly buy the panel. DougVieyra, you were correct the first time, check out the link below - "out-of-date" HAS been listing the over priced dash for over 6 years. The first listing was 10-3-2010!!!!! He just keeps starting new strings for the dash panel now and them. I think he must be insecure and wants attention. It would be nice if some deep pockets person would just buy the damn panel to get it off Fordbarn, however that would probably just encourage him to start posting more items - over and over and over and over...

Re: WANTED: 28-29 Dash Rail for Closed Car
That's your right. But I stick with my opinion.
If I sell something (car, car parts, or wathever) I know what it's worth, I have a price in mind and I decide the price to sell it. And I can assure you : it sells. Today, tomorrow, next year. If you sell too cheap you will always have calls, mails and visits from people who even want it cheaper (read : for free). If the price is higher those people will not bother you, they stay away. You only need one buyer to sell to. I always found him (or he found me). |

BTT must mean bent trashed tin, and that's why it won't sell.
I agree, just stick it on ebay and let the bids determine the worth. |

Having been sold 47 times in it's 140 or so years, all the marketing energy put into selling the 'product' - with enough patience, STILL finds an occasional buyer for the BROOKLYN BRIDGE !
